Exercise Routine For Beginners - Are You Looking For A 3 Day Workout Routine?

I remember when I first started working out. I just purchased my first muscle building magazine and it had all different types of routines in it. Being new to exercise I wanted something to start me out on the right path. So I came across this magazine called, "Exercise Routines For Beginners." and I purchased it.

Since I was looking to add some muscle to my skinny body, and it had on the cover a muscular man, I thought this is what I want to look like and purchased it. My main purpose was to get home and start working out right away. Since I wanted to look like the guy on the cover I was ready to go.

So I open up the book to start my fitness routine and the workout started off Monday, Wednesday, Friday, workout days. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday rest days. Now this was shocking to me, not realizing that as I started my beginner exercises that there was going to be a lot of rest days.

Being a fifteen year old kid I thought working out everyday was the normal thing to do. So I started the beginner workout plan and only worked out on those days.

 To my amazement I was so sore that I actually needed that extra day plus an extra day off just to be able to lift again at all. When I worked my legs I needed three days off and I could barely walk. I started reading the rest of the book and it talked about why beginners need extra time to rest so the muscles heal properly.

They actually get stronger and grow as you rest them. Knowing what I know now it would have been a no brainer, but being a young kid I just wanted to exercise everyday.

The 3 Day Workout Routine works and still does for me today. I still consider this routine the top one for me. I know there are a lot of programs out there that tell you different. From upper, lower body routine, split routine, work one part of the body each day routine. I can go on and on.

Beginners and people who have limited time should always consider the 3 day workout routine. Your working all your muscles three times a week which allows time for muscle growth, but also allows time for family and work related activities.

Plus on the days where you are not scheduled to exercise you can always throw in some cardio if you are looking for some type of weight loss or endurance.

So if you are interested in getting fit and may have limited time, or a beginner looking for a starting point. I highly recommend the three days on, four days off program. Give it a try and be consistent.

I'm writing this article to help you realize how important exercise and nutrition is to your overall health and physical appearance. Exercise and nutrition helps with arthritis, diabetes, depression, motivation, weight loss, lowering cholesterol, flexibility and muscle definition.
